Dear Costa Rica Travelers,
We are looking forward to our upcoming trip to Costa Rica December 27 to January 2.  As plans are now being finalized, the trip cost has gone up $20 to $2,920.  The final payment due October 23 will be $1,070 payable with a check to the GBN BPO.  If you would like to use your student’s earning funds account, please request the funds be applied by completing the attached EFC form and returning with your payment (please contact our Earning Funds Chair Greta Satek at gretasatek@comcast.net for current balances).  The students can still earn money for the trip by selling Boostershots while our supplies last and by selling fruit and cookie dough which is currently underway.  Since the Fruit & Cookie Dough Sale ends after our final trip payment due date, you can request the use of these funds by January 15, 2016 for reimbursement to you.
Please remember that everyone must submit the trip insurance forms by November 1 whether or not you are buying the insurance.  These form are to be sent directly to Music Celebrations International.  See note below sent in July regarding this insurance.

As we get closer we will have specific information regarding flight assignments and times as well as a finalized itinerary.  Attached is the latest itinerary for the trip.  Please be aware that this is SUBJECT TO CHANGE!  Both flights will leave O’Hare between 8-9:30am on the 27th.  We will meet at GBN around 5am on the 27th and be bussed to O’Hare.  Return times are 6pm or 11pm, depending on the flight.

The next trip payment of $725 is due August 25.

Checks payable to GBN BPO or include an EFC form to use your student’s funds (attached) should be sent to Cynthia Nadig at 2950 Lake Placid Lane.

Remember to include a copy of your child ‘s passport page with name and birthday .
Please know that your child can earn money fundraising this fall that can be applied to the trip’s next payment due in October.

Our first fundraiser, Boostershot, starts the first day of school and will be sent home with your child.

Last date to submit an EFC form for reimbursement to be used for the Costa Rica  is January 15, 2016

TRIP INSURANCE

We are happy to let you know that the tour company, Music Celebrations, is offering a good deal on trip insurance.  Music Celebrations provides a standard insurance plan to all participants. This coverage is purchased on behalf of the passenger by Music Celebrations and includes $600 of Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage, which may not cover all of the cancellation penalties.  It also includes some basic coverage for Medical, Evacuation and Baggage benefits.

They strongly recommend adding the Premium Plan Optional Upgrade Coverage, which includes Cancel For Any Reason coverage (need to cancel 2 days prior to departure).  The cost of the Premier Plan Upgrade is $168 and can be purchased by sending a check payable to Music Celebrations International by November 1, 2015.  Please review the coverage offered and make the decision of whether you want to upgrade your travel insurance or be at risk of not having enough coverage in the event of a cancellation. Standard Plan and Premium Plan full details are attached for your review.   ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST COMPLETE THIS FORM REGARDLESS OF YOUR INSURANCE CHOICE by November 1, 2015 and mail to:

In addition, please remember that each trip participant must have a passport to travel to Costa Rica.  Passports must not expire within 6 months of returning from Costa Rica (ie., they must expire afterJuly 2, 2016).  A copy of the passport page with the participant’s full name and birthday must be submitted with the next payment by August 25.  If your child does not have a passport or it expires before July 2, 2016, you should apply for a passport now as it can take several weeks for processing.  Here is a link from the Music Celebrations International about passports:
