I’d like to thank all of the students and parents for another great year of music making in the GBN Band!  We played a wide variety of challenging music and made some great improvements throughout the year.  Thanks, too, to Mr. Wojcik who stepped in and brought his energy and enthusiasm to the band.  I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable summer.  I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the fall and welcoming Mr. Briggs to the band family!

The 2016-17 BPO Scholarship form is now available.  There are two scholarships available to seniors, one for musicianship and one for service to the band.  Download the  form, fill it out and email the completed form to Mrs. Dean at ddean@glenbrook225.org.  Applications are due by April 20th.

On February 22, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble had a recording session in preparation for submitting tapes to the University of Illinois “SuperState” Festival. The resulting recordings are now available on the Concert Bands page! We hope you enjoy these high quality recordings, and will share updated information regarding our SuperState eligibility as it becomes available.

On Saturday, March 4, the Freshman and Symphonic Bands will be traveling to Northern Illinois University to participate in the NIU Concert Band Festival! This festival will give the ensembles an opportunity to perform a short program for a panel of adjudicators who will give feedback on the performance. After the performance, the ensemble will have a clinic with one of the guest clinicians at the festival. This is the first time the Freshman and Symphonic Bands have gone to a clinic like this, and we are excited for the opportunity to perform off-campus! The itinerary and details for the trip are located on the Concert Bands page.
