I’d like to thank all of the students and parents for another great year of music making in the GBN Band!  We played a wide variety of challenging music and made some great improvements throughout the year.  Thanks, too, to Mr. Wojcik who stepped in and brought his energy and enthusiasm to the band.  I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable summer.  I’m looking forward to seeing you all in the fall and welcoming Mr. Briggs to the band family!

With spring fast approaching (although not fast enough!) it’s time to think about our spring performances.  Many of the GBN Band students will be involved in Disney’s The Little Mermaid this April.  On April 6th the Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos will be presenting a fun night of Jazz in the theater at the Northbrook Public Library.  Just a few days after the musical the Symphonic Wind Ensemble will be presenting their spring concert featuring several of our seniors performing solos and even conducting!  In mid-May the Symphonic Band, Freshman Band and the Orchestra will hold their concert featuring music from Wicked and La La Land.  The Memorial Day Parade rounds out the month of May with our Marching Band participating the parade and ceremony.  June 2nd will be the culmination of a great year with the very popular Concert in the Park.  It’s going to be a wonderful springtime full of great music.  Plan to come out and see the bands!
